* Staff complete onboarding and follow clear community guidelines. Training covers child safety and conduct, classroom routines, mandated-reporter awareness, and CPR/First Aid.

Program Leadership

Venerable Abbot Hui Dong

Abbot of Fo Guang Shan Hsi Lai Temple

Venerable Hui Dong serves as the Abbot of Hsi Lai Temple, guiding the resident monks and nuns in propagating Humanistic Buddhism in Southern California. The Abbot is deeply commited to nurturing the younger generation, and wholeheartedly supports Hsi Lai Temple's educational programs.

The Abbot also serves as the Regional Deputy Secretary of Buddha's Light International Association North America, and is the Executive Trustee of the Univeristy of the West.

Venerable Hui Cheng

TAG School Advising Venerable

Venerable Hui Cheng serves as the Advising Venerable of Hsi Lai Temple’s TAG School, offering guidance rooted in Humanistic Buddhism and a deep commitment to education. With a focus on character development, mindfulness, and compassionate leadership, Venerable Hui Cheng supports students, educators, and families in cultivating wisdom and kindness in everyday life. Through teaching, mentorship, and community engagement, he helps foster a learning environment grounded in ethical values and service.
